We meet our first night in the Kruger National Park’s Punda Maria Rest camp. From here we will travel to Gonarezhou National park via a rustic camp on the Limpopo River. Crossing the Limpopo River is an experience by itself. We spend 5 days in various camps within the park and visit highlights like Chilojo Hills and Runde rivers. This is said to be the land of the elephant.

Leaving the park, we visit the Great Zimbabwe Ruins and camp nearby. The ruined city is in the south-eastern hills of Zimbabwe near Lake Mutirikwi and the town of Masvingo. It was the capital of the Kingdom of Zimbabwe during the country’s Late Iron Age. On our return leg we camp at the legendary Lion and Elephant Lodge.
